Acute radiodermatitis in cancer patients: incidence and severity estimates

ABSTRACT Objective: To estimate the incidence and distribution of degree radiodermatitis in cancer patients submitted to radiotherapy regions head neck, breast, pelvis. Method: Prospective, longitudinal, quantitative study conducted from March 15, 2016 May 4, 2017 with observed for five weeks treatment. The primary outcome was proportion grade 1 or higher each week. mean time occurrence patient were secondary outcomes. Results: This included 112 patients. 100% among those whose neck region irradiated, followed by 98% breast 48% pelvic region. varied irradiated site; worst degrees found region, breast. In three groups, first approximately eleven days. Conclusion: studied groups high, which reinforces need perform same evaluation nationwide. would support creating standardizing protocols recommendations a proper management radiodermatitis, specially concerning its prevention.
